On Monday, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, engaged in a significant phone conversation with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Mohammad Shahbaz Sharif. The dialogue centered on enhancing bilateral relations and supporting Pakistan’s mediation efforts in the region. Qatar’s Prime Minister expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s contribution to mediating a ceasefire between the United States and Iran, emphasizing the importance of peaceful resolutions to regional tensions.
Sheikh Mohammed affirmed Qatar’s full support for Pakistan’s initiatives aimed at de-escalating tensions and achieving a comprehensive agreement for sustainable peace. Highlighting the need for all parties to actively participate in these mediation efforts, he stressed the potential for creating a conducive environment for successful negotiations.
In another strategic conversation, Sheikh Mohammed spoke with Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud. The discussions revolved around strengthening bilateral ties and reviewing regional developments, with a particular focus on the ceasefire between the United States and Iran. During this exchange, Qatar’s Prime Minister condemned a recent drone attack targeting Saudi Arabia and reassured Saudi Arabia of Qatar’s solidarity and support for measures to protect its security and sovereignty.
Additionally, the Prime Minister received a call from Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and regional developments, especially concerning the US-Iran ceasefire and efforts to reduce regional tensions. Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the necessity for all involved parties to respond positively to ongoing mediation efforts, aiming to address the crisis’s root causes through dialogue and peaceful means, ultimately preventing any renewed escalation.
